What is involved in competition dance?
In the competitive dance world lays a lot of love and compassion for all things performing. We are looking for children who want to be part of a strong team, with friends who rely on each other and grow and learn award winning choreographies together. This is perfect for a dancer who likes to perform and wants to take dancing to the next level.
Dancers ages 6 -8 are required to take a minimum of 3 classes per week (2 technique and 1 additional), and ages 9 and older are required to take a minimum of 4 classes per week (3 technique and 1 additional).
All teams will participate in our annual Christmas recital, 3 National Dance Competitions and perform at several local events throughout the year. Extra mandatory rehearsals will be added if necessary.
Competitions will be scheduled from February to June.
Attendance is required at every class to be able to build a strong team and support each other. Please let the teacher know when the dancer is sick or has to miss a class.
Dress code for all competitive dancer is all black. NO hoodies or loose clothing.
Solo/duet routines for competition are available to all competitive dancers if they are able and willing to practice their routines on their own. The studio can be available to them if the space is free.
